Moist Chocolate Cake

I know you are going to read this recipe and say, "Is she nuts?" Just take my word for it, this recipe works! It is super fluffy and tastes so chocolaty delicious! Besides that, you can make it in five minutes!! I'm not kidding!


2 c. sugar
1-3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. cocoa powder
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. boiling water
Chocolate Icing/Frosting


1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.

3. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.

4. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat for 2 minutes with a mixer.

5. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.

6. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

7. Cool 10 minutes and then remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.

8. Frost with chocolate icing/frosting.

Serves 10 to 12

sounds good to me. Have you tried using apple sauce instead of oil?
