Bacon Shrimp with Garlic

Appetizer or Main Dish


* shrimp
* garlic - at least one bulb....I used 4
* dried red pepper to taste - I like lots!
* lemons
* limes
* peppered bacon


1. Peel and devein the shrimp. That black line across the edge needs to come out.

2. To create the marinate, combined the crushed garlic, equal parts of lemon and lime juice and red pepper in a large freezer bag and add the cleaned shrimp. Mix it all together in the bag, close it tight and then refrigerate for approximately 5 hours.

3. After marinating, drain shrimp, and wrap each shrimp with half a slice of uncooked bacon and secure with a toothpick or skewer two on the same stick.

4. Broil on high in the oven turning halfway through cooking. Do not over cook.

Serve on a bed of brown rice.
